At the time of purchase the building was 100% leased to three credit tenants, NY Sports Club, Duane Reade and Wachovia Bank. Meir purchased 2856 Steinway Street as part of a 1031 exchange. An opportunity was recognized to purchase a highly stable investment property at a time when core assets were becoming increasingly desirable to institutional investors. The building was sold at the height of the market, avoiding fallout from the subsequent credit crisis.
